DREAMLAND!!!!!!!!
He’s like the next Manny Ramirez they say but better. He goes by the name of Christian Gonzalez. Christian is a very intelligent person in and out of school. During his time out of school he does real work graffiti and plays baseball. He started playing baseball at the age of 12. When he came to Christian plans for next year are overwhelming. He has to balance out his car and college expenses so that he can easily travel back and forth to see his family and friends. He also wants to be on top of all his classers and not party as hard because he believes that education is the gate way to the green life. During Christian’s high school year there was times he was embarrassed. But the most embarrassing thing happened freshmen year. He was the freshest student walking around the school but there were upper classmen who didn’t think so and thought otherwise. The upper classmen tied him up and put him inside a trunk of a car and made it seem like he was going to die. He was scared out of mind but it was only a joke for like 10 minutes.
High school has been the most influential part of his life. Thanks to high school he was able to learn how the world works and how it’s going to help him in the future. His friends and he gone through a lot together and he plan on taking his maturity to the next level out of high school, to help him. When middle school was over for Christian he wanted to come to PATH because he knew many of the upper classmates and was interested in having a laptop. He liked it because the school met his expectations and he got to grow with the best classmates a student can ask for.

"1984" OBEY
In Shephard Fairey’s show ‘Supply and Demand,’ he had many artworks that related to the book 1984 by George Orwell. One theme they both mention in the show and the book was the whole message of Big Brother. In the art show, Fairey shows how Big Brother is portrayed by creating a big, African-American face and having many pieces that say obey. Big Brother is symbolized as a sense of security; a symbol people look up to. But he is also a symbol of power; a symbol people need to respect and obey. On Fairey’s art work, he created many pieces of work where he had the words OBEY on them very large and noticeable. Another theme would be obedience; both Fairey and Orwell stressed on this subject. In Orwell’s book, he wrote about how Winston (the main character) always had to obey Big Brother; he always had to be careful with everything he said, did, thought, etc. As you see they shared many common themes. Another theme would be the use of technology, where both stressed the fact that technology has taken its course. Shepherd Fairey was different which made him unique and his artwork. In many of his artwork he showed women and children holding guns with flowers in them. I feel it symbolized peace and not war. Instead of shooting bullets shoot for freedom which represented the rose/flower. By looking at someone else’s image of a specific event it shows you a different idea and perspective on that event. When we went to the ICA it help us better understand that. Fairey also had updated and re-imagined propaganda-style posters that helped me see beyond the original image of the poster, it helped me see the real meaning of the posters. Fairey draws a lot of counter-cultural revolutionary’s poster. These help people understand historical events because it helps people see a picture of what was Fairey’s point of view on that specific historical event. I think it’s important to understand the purpose of propaganda posters in WW1 and this is something Fairey does through his art. These posters that fooled people back in WW1.One of the historical references in ‘1984’ is the thought that no one wants to give up power, they only want more, which we know is a common characteristic of past leaders of our world, and even a more recent reminder of our own last US President. Another historical reference, Fairey created his artwork in different time periods. Meaning he created pieces of art work about the 50’s, 60’s’, 70’s, 80’s, famous artist, famous celebrities, Obama, etc…Another historical reference in Fairey works is money. He basically says “through symbolism that people will do and have done anything to get money, without even knowing what it means”. This also connects to ‘1984’ and its mention of power. This helps us to understand our history and past better because when you see the art, you actually think, about what people have done to make money and what they will do in our day and age to make it.

OBEY
When we went to the ICA it was really interesting. I like the fact how all the drawing had a unique type of style to it. It made it look real. My favorite saying was when the picture said " I'm going to kick your ass and get away with it" It was really nice. It was in officer guard and he looked really confident in his picture. The artist did a really good detail job puting his art work into alot of feeling.

Hangman
I feel this was a good poetry. It had a lot of metaphors that were good. The Hangman poetry had many smilies, personification, imagery, and metaphor. This brings a good sense to the reading and make it sound really interesting. When I watched the video I found it boring but reading the story by itself was interesting. So I give a 8 out of 10.

A F R I C A
My view of Africa really haven't change because i still look at it being a slave place where they treat African Americans bad. I watch the movie Hotel Rwanda and i seen the African Americans suffer tremendously throughout the movie. We as in people are the same but just have color in us. It doesn't matter if your white, black, blue, yellow, orange, or purple. Were still a unit as one. We shouldn't kill because someone skin tone. The African American bodies were on the road from being killed.

Lord of thE FliEs SumMary
In Lord of the Flies, there are a group of boys that were being evacuated from England whose plane has crashed on a deserted island. As the boys are on the island they begin to realize that they are the only one on the island. They feel free because they have no adults on the island to tell them what to do. But they also realize they need a leader and a hunter for food. They select Ralph and Jack. Jack the head of the choirboys who wants to be the leader. He is made chief of the hunters who chase pigs around with spears. Ralph spends much of his time building shelters to protect the boys, while Jack and his tribe are constantly off hunting for food. Ralph and the boys make a fire so they can be rescue. Ralph is more concerned than ever about their rescue and about keeping the fire going. Ralph gets mad at Jack because Jack is more concerned with hunting than keeping the fire going. Jack begins not to care anymore about anything. Jack breaks away from the group and starts his own tribe at Castle Rock on the other side of the island. Most of the other boys follow him. Only Piggy, Sam, Eric, and some littluns remain with Ralph. Jack killed a pig and the boys begin to go crazy painting there face and feasting. Simon had wonder off into the island while the boys were celebrating jumping around. Simon came back running and the boys mistake him into being a beast and they beat Simon down with clubs and spears until he was dead. Ralph and Piggy felt horrible what happened. Ralph and Jack was no longer buddies and bump heads. So one night Jack and some of his hunters ran through Ralph's camp and they attack the boys, damage the shelters, and stoled Piggy's glasses which they needed to light a fire at there own camp. So Ralph and Piggy went to Castle Rock to get Piggy glasses back because he couldn't see. As they enter Castle Rock Roger who is one of there guards pushes a boulder rock towards Piggy. It crushes and kill him. Ralph begin to run through the forest as Jack hunters look for him. Jack hunters begin to set the forest on fire as Ralph begin to run fast as possible to the beach. Ralph tripped and fell and as he stood up, he seen a officer. The burning trees and smoke attracted the officers to the island. The officer speak to all the British boys and hear about the death with Simon and Piggy. The officer was shock by the evil deed they had cause. All the boys begin to cry but are relieved that they are leaving the island but see the evil ways of mankind they realize.
